When the pandemic hit and the Redwood Platform Services team began working exclusively from home, the team struggled to stay connected.
“It felt like I was on an island,” said Redwood Solutions Consultant, Caroline Twyman. “For months people stopped putting their cameras on during meetings and it became hard to feel like I was connecting with other humans.”
The Redwood Logistics leadership gathered feedback from their employees and hired Knuckleball Comedy to run a unique workshop. The main goal? To laugh, together. The workshop would inspire team members to collaborate and make each other feel part of a cohesive unit rather than alone on individual islands. It would not only be a fun activity but it would energize the group which would in turn jolt productivity back up.
“It was really great to see so many of our team members break out of their shell during the virtual workshop,” said Vice President of Solution Design, Dan Gordon. “The energy that Knuckleball Comedy brought to the workshop was amazing and it rubbed off on our team. People were laughing and having a great time. I was impressed they were able to make it work so well on the virtual platform.”
Knuckleball Comedy has brought energy to many companies throughout the pandemic and the programming has thrived even on the virtual platform. Each of its workshops comes with two professional improvisers who know how to find comedic genius even in the quietest of corporate teams.
“It was a great experience all around,” said Gordon. “From planning the event with Ethan to the fun event itself, I would hire them back in a second. I look forward to our next engagement with them whether it is virtually or in-person.”
“It was awesome!” Twyman added. “It was a huge boost for everyone and I am so glad we were able to do it.”
