Knuckleball Comedy is hiring Improv Instructors to start work this Fall

About the position and Knuckleball Comedy:

Knuckleball Comedy runs improv comedy classes and performances in schools, camps, park districts, senior centers, retirement facilities and more, for kids, adults and seniors of all ages.  This fall, we are running programs in schools around Chicago, and are hiring multiple part-time Improv Instructors to travel to our locations teaching improv classes, designed by Knuckleball Comedy, to kids from ages 7-18 in an educational, professional, and fun manner.

 

Improv Instructor is expected to:

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of every class

  • Speak politely with school staff and administration

  • Create a fun and active learning environment for the students

  • Keep the classroom under control and deal with behavioral issues in the appropriate manner

  • Be energetic with the participants

  • Be an improviser who knows and understands a wide range of improv games

  • Insure the safety of all participants in the classroom

 

Requirements

  • Graduated or currently taking improv classes at one of the improv schools in Chicago or elsewhere

  • Previous work with children

  • College degree or currently enrolled in college

  • Having a car is preferable but willingness to take public transportation is a must

  • Ability to work weekdays from approximately 3-5PM

  • Able to pass background check

 

Job Details

  • Part time - work schedule and hours will be determined before Fall school session begins

  • $22/hour
